SDPI’s Centre for Learning and Development, in collaboration with International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada is organizing a workshop on Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL). MEAL is an approach whereby not only the programmes are monitored and evaluated against targets, but also the findings of these activities are explicitly fed back into programme decision-making and shared with stakeholders thus incorporating accountability and learning in to institutional processes. It is important to also reform organisational structures and procedures in a manner that uptake of learning from monitoring and evaluation becomes easier and effective. Through this workshop, we will introduce ways in which principles of MEAL can be adopted by research, academics and development organizations for the improvement of their own work and its outcomes.
