Acoustics System Engineer

Position Summary:

Responsible for the continuous improvement and application of a range of vehicle noise management systems including Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) systems such as Engine Order Cancellation and Road Noise Cancellation and also Engine Sound Synthesis.  Will need to organize and execute vehicle tuning/testing, analyze data appropriately, and apply results towards the design of high performance systems using advanced DSP and acoustics engineering.

Job Responsibilities:

Support noise management systems development on multiple projects within local and global development teams.

Analyze and investigate new noise management related technologies and best practices.

Interface with Harman R&D teams along with customer advanced NVH teams to design, develop and continuously improve noise management systems and technologies.

Perform software and hardware testing of development designs both on bench and in-vehicle.

Use, maintain, and improve upon best practices and design standards via the lessons learned process.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience or MS in acoustics or ANC.

Experienced in ANC, digital signal processing, or acoustics engineering.

Experienced in algorithm testing.

Working knowledge with Head Acoustics NVH development tools.

Eligibility Requirements:

Willingness to travel up to 15-20% of the time

Willingness to work in an office in Novi, MI

Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test

Willingness for overtime and weekend work, as needed
