The Office of Strategic Communications and Community Engagement (SCCE) at Penn State Abington creates communications and forges relationships that enhance the reputation of the College and University throughout the region. Our primary strategies promote positive engagement with key internal and external audiences, uphold the University’s brand identity, advance Penn State’s high-quality academics, research, global reach, and student experience, and celebrate the diversity of the campus community. As an important strategic unit at a Penn State campus in the Philadelphia market, SCCE supports the campus goals by attracting talented students from the across the region and the world. Responsibilities: The Digital Content Intern (DCI) will have the opportunity to learn, support, and assist in a variety of marketing practices. Duties include: photography, writing, and managing social media. Other tasks include: recording videos, editing website, and supporting special events. The DC Intern will learn how to run social media metrics and Google Analytics, and report relevant statistics to colleagues. The DCI may also support SCCE marketing with the following digital responsibilities: Update the Campus TV Monitor system; Updating the events and announcements on website; Stream live events to website. Preferred Skills: Basic HTML; Experience with DSLRs; Photoshop; Video and video editing skills; Proficient writing and verbal communication abilities. Knowledge of social media platforms and Hootsuite. Credits: 3, Hours: 135 hours per semester, Pay: $9.50/hour.
