The Principal Digital Architect is responsible for building strategy, conceptualizing, planning, designing and implementing integrated digital solutions in support of the IT Americas User Services (including research and manufacturing sites), Local Site business functions (HR, Corporate Relations, Legal, Workplace Services, Health Care Compliance, US Govt. Affairs etc.) and IT Shared Services. They will also be responsible for developing Information/Data Architecture and implementing analytical solutions to identify opportunities/trends/patterns, leveraging industry best practices and building a strategic plan to implement unmet needs.
Partner with IT teams and senior business leaders to provide strategic consultation for business process design/optimization, creating strategic roadmaps, performing rapid prototyping and implementing technical solutions to accelerate the fulfillment of the business strategic vision. Present strategic recommendations to senior leaders from Business and IT.
Sources and identifies emerging Digital technology trends from multiple internal and external sources and assess relevance. Integrates trends into functional short-term objectives. Advances cross‐discipline technology and direction through generation of data.
Applies imagination and innovation by creating, inventing, and implementing new or better approaches, alternatives and breakthrough ideas that are valued by customers within the function. Stay abreast of emerging technologies (AI, Automation, Cloud etc.) and trends with a clear focus on productivity, ease of use and fit-for-purpose.
Assesses current state of solutions, defines future state needs, identifies gaps and recommends new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements
Facilitate stakeholder sessions with personnel across all disciplines in the company to identify and define requirements, assess business processes and evaluate technology solutions. Formulate business and technology architectures comprised of diverse functional capabilities supporting business areas across the IT Americas.
Oversee and facilitate the evaluation and selection technology and product standards, and the design of standard configurations/implementation patterns
Partners with other architects and solution owners to create standards and set strategies for the enterprise. Communicates directly with Business colleagues on applying Digital Workplace technologies to solve identified business challenges.
Advances technical expertise within function. Proactively demonstrates leadership by advising and sharing knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers, and senior management. Mentors and trains functional colleagues and assess current and emerging business challenges enabling functional goal achievement

Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience – 10 to 15 years of experience in multiple IT disciplines/domains (Applications for HR – Workday, Legal – Matter Management, eDiscovery, etc.; Digital Workplace Technologies; Cloud; IOT; Security; Network etc.) geared towards employee productivity and experience.
Demonstrated track record of success in strategizing and architecting digital solutions for large enterprises. Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved technology solutions with remarkable impact on company productivity.
Strong business knowledge in the Pharma/Biotech industry and associated processes is preferred.
Interacts well with diverse groups within function and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators. Demonstrated ability to influence others in technology areas of technology.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and to build a strong network and relationships (internally and externally) up to the executive levels across IT functions and the business.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to successfully influence others to achieve objectives in an environment of competing priorities.

Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.

Demonstrated ability to influence technology decisions at all levels (senior management & leaders to technical contributors & staff). Experience with creating materials and presenting information on complex and technical topics to a senior management audience.
Effectively communicates complex ideas & information in a simple manner; Inspiring individual who is capable of working independently and with teams. Experience managing change in a complex, matrix organization.
Knowledge of financial models and cost-benefit analysis is required.
