The graphic designer will work directly with the Assistant Director of Creative to compose, design, and develop print and digital materials for a wide range of marketing requests to support the Graziadio School brand, reputation, its degree programs, enrollment objectives, and strategic priorities. The graphic designer is responsible for maintaining a strong and consistent visual identity for the Graziadio Business School working within the University and School-level brand guidelines to ultimately enhance our reputation locally and nationally.
Compose and design brochures, flyers, handouts, posters,various print and web-based materials, working around an initial concept and thinking in terms of broader solutions.
Print Production: Manage the print production process and press checks for all print collateral under the direction of the Associate Director of Creative.
Research and Strategy: Studies and researches various artwork related to the project request such as illustrations and photographs in order to plan and strategize design concepts.
Proof and Mock-ups: Checks projects for accuracy, design, color, format, alignment, and legibility. Provide printed mock-ups when needed.
Photo Editing: Photo editing and touching up.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Uphold university mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Education in graphic design. The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in graphic design, visual communications or a related field. Six months experience working as an intern graphic designer covering aspects of artwork preparation, printing, digital design, and video production. Requires thorough knowledge of typography, printing processes, video production best practices. A compelling portfolio of artwork is require in lieu of experience as an intern. Demonstrated understanding of graphic design principles. Must have knowledge of best practices of graphic composition, design, illustration, and production as well as proper (English) spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Must have excellent project management, verbal, written communication and customer services skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. The applicant needs to be extremely comfortable working with Adobe Creative Suite programs (ideally, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign) for Mac.
Preferred: Master's level education in graphic designer, ideally an MFA degree from an accredited college or university. The ideal candidate will have two years of experience working for a design firm or agency. Special consideration will be given to applicants that know HTML, animated image graphics, those who can create digital or hand drawn illustrations, and those proficient in video production in Adobe AfterEffects. Special consideration will be given to applicants who are extremely comfortable with the entire suite of Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
