Programs Built for Busy Adults
SWU Online programs are geared toward the way adults learn, with active participation and an emphasis on applying what you're learning to your professional situation. Graduates of Southern Wesleyan University have been successful in their fields as they have applied practical knowledge and skills developed while enrolled. Our goal is to ensure our programs prepare and set our students up for success in their fields.
To make sure everyone is involved and engaged, most courses use a workshop-style format that is designed to generate class-wide discussions about ideas and allow you to evaluate the subject matter based on your practical experiences. With this format, teachers are no longer lecturers but facilitators who can offer new theories and perspectives for discussion.
Online Class Format
Programs are offered in a fully online format with all courses offered through an online learning management system. As an online student, you will earn the same degree as you would in the physical classroom. Courses are taught in a flexible virtual classroom experience, designed to be both engaging and challenging. Students have access to an incredible array of learning resources and can complete their online degrees around their own schedule.

Academic Term Calendars
The academic year is divided into three 15-week academic terms: Fall (August-December), Spring (January-May), and Summer (May-July). Within each term, courses are divided into 7-week sub-terms.
